PHOBOPHOBES BLIND MUSCLE

TMR faves Phobophobes has just headed out on a UK headline tour and to celebrate, the brooding sextet have shared a brilliant new single in 'Blind Muscle'. Continuing their dark, psychedelic adventures, in a lot of ways 'Blind Muscle' is a song about about ignorance and selfishness. Musically, channelling the gritty pop of Iggy Pop's The Idiot, with deranged synthesizers and pummelling drums, vocalist Jamie Taylor explains the title as, "a blind force, someone who can make decisions and doesn’t necessarily make the right ones, very flippant decisions that affect people’s lives massively." Arriving alongside a dizzying video directed by Taylor and Jack Retallack, the clip has a squalid Trainspotting vibe, which is no doubt triggered by the off-colour lighting and the presence of a toilet in each of the four cells that the camera rotates around. Watch it here now. -Holly Mullineaux
